Transition
The transition from primary to secondary school is an important milestone for children and their families.
At St Thomas More, we pride ourselves on providing new pupils, parents and carers with a smooth and extensive transition programme which ensures our new Year 7s arrive in September excited about the next chapter of their education.
Our transition programme begins the moment your child is offered a place at the school and provides many opportunities for them to develop new friendships, improve their confidence, and get used to their new school environment.
What can you expect?

20th July for one week - Summer School
Summer school operates in the first week of the summer holidays from 9am until 2pm every day. Summer school will include workshops and activities to support the step up to secondary school learning.
September and beyond
Your child’s first day of school is for Year 7 only, providing them with another chance to settle into their new school environment. Transition doesn’t then end in September. Throughout their time with us, they will be supported every step of the way.
