To lead those in our care
to grow in their faith and to
benefit from an enriching education

Head of School, Mr A Rosen

Welcome to St Thomas More Catholic School

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

We are a forward-thinking yet traditional mixed secondary school, that has Christ at the centre of all we do.  We have a reputation for high standards and excellent student behaviour, ensuring that pupils adhere to the gospel values.

At St Thomas More Catholic School we value each pupil as unique and special. We make sure they are happy, feel safe, enjoy learning, work with enthusiasm and make a contribution to the life of the school. Our principles are underpinned by our strong Catholic ethos, which are guided by our gospel and CREST values, Courage, Respect, Effort, Service and Teamwork. We believe we have something to offer all – whatever their starting point, ensuring their skills and abilities are praised, nurtured and shaped. We invite pupils to begin their journey to success with us, to flourish and be part of our outstanding learning community.

Extraordinary Stories

  • “I found the jump from primary to secondary school a little scary, especially because I was one of only four who joined from my primary school, but at St Thomas More everyone is so friendly that you immediately feel welcomed and a part of the family. What’s more, with teachers like ours all fears are taken away. They welcome us with smiles and a fun lesson ahead where we are challenged, supported and encouraged to do our best. My favourite lesson is Science because of the exciting experiments such as dissection! It has inspired me to become a surgeon in the future, not only to dissect things, but to help others in need too.”

  • “The opportunities on offer to us at St Thomas More never cease to amaze me. We can join a sports club or team, make friends at Youth Club after school, extend our learning in Science and Maths club, or explore fascinating places like the Tower of London, museums and the London Zoo, to name just a few. Not only do these opportunities allow us to try something new, but they also allow us to make new friends across the school, develop new skills whilst also providing a balance to the challenging curriculum we follow. My favourite lesson is Science because I find it intriguing and love learning about how the world works.”

  • “Sport is my passion and the PE Department here at St Thomas More is exceptional! There are a variety of sports on offer to suit everyone’s interests and abilities. I am a member of the school football, basketball and athletics team and we are highly successful, winning trophies and tournaments every year. My experience at St Thomas More has helped mould me into both the player and person I am today. I feel I have grown in confidence and throw myself into new things and environments, tackling challenges head on. I am looking forward to joining St Thomas More Sixth Form and specialising in the subjects I enjoy."
